Valerie Lynn Brett
I am a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and I have more than 15 years experience as a professional actor. I am an excellent communicator and positive supporter of all other actors. I believe there is no need to hide or hoard information, feedback, or resources, as there is plenty of room for us all to succeed in this business!
I have taught acting, performance, and improv classes in New Orleans (Creating U), Los Angeles (Art of Acting Studio), New York (Peoples Improv Theatre/The PIT), and at the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, MN. I am a graduate of Stella Adler's 2-Year Professional Conservatory/Art of Acting Studio (MFA equivalent), and I earned my undergrad degree in Film Acting at Academy of Art University (San Francisco).
My film/TV credits include "American Horror Story" (FX); "Zoo" (CBS); "Thank You For Your Service "(DreamWorks); "Bad Moms" (STX Entertainment); and "Finding Normal" (UP Network--TV movie w/ Candace Cameron Bure).
My theatre credits include Goneril in "King Lear" (Harold Clurman Laboratory Theatre); Cal in "Cal In Camo" (Regional Premiere - DENIZEN Theatre); Macbeth in "Macbeth" (Stella Adler/Art of Acting Studio); Holly Wonderland in "Christmastown: A Holiday Noir" (DENIZEN Theatre); Gloria in "Gloria" (Stella Adler/Art of Acting); Lori in "Freedomland" (AtmosTheatre); and Dancer in "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues" (Crown City Theatre). I also wrote and performed my solo show "Mr. Babcock" (about civil war spy ring leader, Elizabeth Van Lew) as part of "Uncivil Wars" in the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
I also have extensive improv and sketch training (The New Movement - New Orleans; UCB; The PIT - NYC), and I performed at SF Sketchfest and regularly in New Orleans with my all-female sketch group, Virginia's Harem.

I am a classically trained character actor. My strengths are in comedy and period drama, but I have a wide range. I also have strong improv skills and dialect/accent skills. Moms, therapists, lawyers, crazy ex-wives, quirky co-workers, white trash, side-kick/best friend: these are all well within my range.
My film/TV credits include "American Horror Story" (FX); "Zoo" (CBS); "Thank You For Your Service "(DreamWorks); "Bad Moms" (STX Entertainment); and "Finding Normal" (UP Network--TV movie w/ Candace Cameron Bure).
